I spent 3 days camping in Big Bend National Park and with over 800,000 acres to explore it’s an amazing place to enjoy lots of solitude…if you don’t want to be seen for days on end this is the place to go. I knew there would be clear skies at night along with some very cold temps in the 30’s which make for one of my favorite things to do…photograph the Milky Way. This time I controlled my camera with a remote so I could capture my silhouette against the awesome night sky. The photo was a 25 second exposure so I had to stand perfectly still so as not to cause any blur…and I think pointing my headlamp straight up gave it a pretty cool effect.
